Inside the Hiring Process: Concentrix

We spoke with Maria Gray and Brooke Schuler, members of the Concentrix Work At Home Talent Acquisition Team, who gave us the full rundown on everything from how to apply and what to expect, to what sets top-performing agents apart.

📌 Company + Role Snapshot

RRR: What types of remote roles does your company typically hire for?

Concentrix: Typically, our remote, or “work-at-home (WAH) positions, as we call them at Concentrix, are for customer service, inside sales, or technical support roles. Other WAH career opportunities may include chat support, social media content moderation, or even AI learning-related positions.

RRR: Are your remote positions primarily employee-based, contractor-based, or a mix of both?

Concentrix: Concentrix WAH positions are employee-based.

RRR: Which locations or time zones do you currently hire from?

Concentrix: We hire in 35 U.S. states and 9 Canadian provinces, covering all time zones (coast-to-coast). Candidates can check our Careers website for eligible states and provinces (Jobs.Concentrix.com or ReimagineYourCareer.net).

📝 Application Process

RRR: Where should applicants go to find and apply for your remote roles?

Concentrix: Jobs.Concentrix.com OR ReimagineYourCareer.net

RRR: What should applicants include in their resume or application to stand out? (e.g., specific skills, certifications, experience, etc.)

Concentrix: Resumes and other requirements vary between roles at Concentrix. We suggest reviewing the details of the posted job descriptions, then be sure to include the relevant work experience and skills in the resume.

RRR: Do you require cover letters or online assessments?

Concentrix: Cover letters are not required at Concentrix; including a cover letter is a personal choice. (Assessment tests may be required, however.)

💬 Interview + Screening

RRR: What does your typical interview process look like for remote candidates?

Concentrix: Most of our WAH recruiting programs utilize a virtual (recorded) interview, allowing candidates the ability to record their interviews when they feel best prepared and based on their personal schedule.

RRR: Are there any skills tests or simulations involved?

Concentrix: Yes, skills and/or other assessment tests are often required as part of our hiring process. There could also be “simulations,” where direct skill-related interview questions might be tied in with behavior-type questions.

RRR: What qualities or traits do your most successful remote hires tend to share?

Concentrix: First, we look for the directly relevant customer service, sales, and/or technical support experience and any skills that may match our role(s). We also look at secondary type experience/skills (those that might not be directly related to the role(s), but have some similarities that could help fulfill the job requirements.

Next, we look for “empathetic” qualities the candidate might possess, the innate ability to listen to and put themselves in the customers’ shoes, then effectively communicate and resolve issues.

For our WAH (remote) positions, we look for candidates who have the discipline to be punctual, coolness under pressure when faced with unforeseen circumstances when servicing a customer, and the drive to inquire with supervisors or peers for answers or guidance when needed.

RRR: How long does your average hiring process take from application to offer?

Concentrix: The beauty of the WAH (remote) process is that it is truly candidate-driven. If someone takes their requested assessments as soon as they are received and responds to their recruiter promptly, the process might take 3-5 days. If they are less responsive, the process will take longer, accordingly.

It should be noted that when we’re hiring for our WAH roles, typically we’re hiring many folks for the same position…hiring those who complete all steps and follow through with all requests first. So, if a candidate wants to start sooner rather than later, it’s advised to be proactive and responsive to all recruiter requests.

💼 Onboarding + Working Remotely

RRR: What does your onboarding process look like for remote hires or contractors?

Concentrix: The onboarding process at Concentrix is one of the best in the business. We pull all new hires in about a week before their on-the-job (paid) training begins and, at the same time, work on getting all their equipment and systems set up.

On the first day of employment, new hires get company equipment delivered or sent to be delivered (if applicable), required login and other information are provided and tested, etc. Then, folks come back to us a couple of days later, where we have a team to help with accessing all required computers/apps and ensure access to all the systems they’ll need for training and post-training.

RRR: Do you provide equipment or a stipend for remote work setups?

Concentrix: Both, we supply all required equipment or new hires may use their own computers…depends on the specifics of the role and client program requirements.

RRR: What tools or platforms do your remote teams use to communicate and collaborate? (e.g., Slack, Zoom, Notion, Teams)

Concentrix: This often varies by the client or program the new hire is working under. Tools that are widely used at Concentrix include MS Teams, an internal platform called Qcomm, and more. We maintain a variety of ways to communicate and collaborate.

RRR: How do you help new hires feel part of the team, even when working remotely?

Concentrix: This is actually a company-wide commitment at Concentrix.

We maintain a “people-first, inclusive culture where everyone feels a genuine sense of belonging no matter their job, geography, or flexible work environment.” Additionally, every site and WAH program has a company Engagement Team that is solely dedicated to their group and to creating collaborative and festive events for our “game-changers,” like group celebrations, dance/karaoke parties, “happy hours,” game days, silly hat days, bingo, and so much more.

Our employees never feel alone or like they’re separated out on an island.
